Hello again everyone!
If you have checked back for a new journal and nothing was posted, I am sorry. I have been on the road for a while, so I didn't have a chance to write. Life is still a whirlwind with me. While trying to finish class, I have been making appearances for different people. DeMarini and Wilson had their Sales meeting, and I got to go and personally explain to the reps all about my glove line. It was exciting to see everything falling in place. It's surreal too though; I never really thought I would have my own glove line. The people in the Wilson/DeMarini/ATEC company are great though, and everything is coming together perfectly.
The National team got together a few weeks ago too. We train in Tucson every few weeks in order to workout together and sometimes go through testing. For me it was a great week. I finally got to get back out on the field after a long lay off. I was sidelined in the fall with an injury, so I took the field for the first time since the end of October. It felt great to get back into the swing of things.
After Tucson, I went to Chicago to make an appearance at the Girls in the Game's charity dinner. My flight got delayed, so I literally made it there for the last 10 minutes. I seriously changed clothes on the way to the dinner and jumped right out of the car into the ballroom. Needless to say, I wasn't up to dress code, but it was worth it to meet a bunch of girls who have been able to participate in sports due to this organizations amazing contributions. I also worked a few clinics with Michele Smith while I was up there, and those were great. It's nice to be able to give to the softball community in all parts of the country.
I am finally back in Austin, and enjoying the weather and down time. I am getting caught up on everything I missed, and trying to get ahead this time around! May cannot come soon enough. I am so anxious to get my diploma.
Here are a few answers to questions I have received:
Lisette Mojica asked what career I plan on pursuing with my psychology degree, and right now my plan is to go to graduate school at Cal State Fullerton and get my masters in Sport Psychology. After that I would love to coach college softball, but the idea of private practice is a bit interesting too. I am sure I'll end up coaching one day though!
Another reader asked what sports I played in Junior High and High School. I have tried almost every sport growing up. I played soccer for most of my youth, along with basketball. In Junior High I added volleyball and track to my increasing list of sports. I focused on Basketball and Softball in High School though, playing both all the way through my senior year.
That's all for now! It's time to get some rest!
Have a safe Spring Break!
