Around the Country I go…

It’s the time again … blog update!

I really will get better at updating this now; it’s going to be a New Year’s resolution, but I’ll make it now. =)

Wow is all I can say about everything going on in my life.  I’ve fully realized moving back to Austin was the best decision I could have made.  Being back in Texas, close to my family, and around my friends has made me find myself and a happiness I had lost for a while. It’s amazing how you can see things differently once you go through a change like this. I’m loving everything life brings to me these days.

The NPF Back to School Tour ended Nov 7.  The tour was great for all parties involved. We had so many great crowds. Every college was a great host, and we hope they enjoyed playing us as much as we enjoyed the experience.  I used the tour to rehab my arm, so to speak.  I think it’s back to normal thanks to Arrosti and all the work I have gotten done on it.

I also go to hit a little on tour, which was fun.  It doesn’t mean I want to ever be in the line up consistently, but it was a challenge to swing the bat again. I haven’t been in the lineup since I was 13 or 14, minus our high school season.  I ended tour by hitting the only home run I have ever hit in my life!! I still get a really big smile when I think about it. It felt amazing… I don’t know how else to explain it!

28608_10100243567770110_7913921_61820716_4261995_n Kelly Kretschman, Caitlin Lowe, Charlotte Morgan, Megan Willis and I have been traveling with Triple Threat as well. We have had some really good clinics throughout the country. It’s so fun to be able to see these kids have fun and learn the details of our sport.  There’s still 6 more clinics, so check out our website to get info!!

The biggest news of this “off-season” is that Megan and I have signed to go overseas and play in Japan!! We are so excited to take on another experience, and I feel very fortunate I have a battery mate that is so eager to take off around the world with me! It’s going to be great to have one of my closest friends over there with me.  The Japan season is different then any other pro league. It’s split in 2 segments with a break during the summer, so we will come back to Florida to play in the NPF with the Pride.

I’m closing out 2010 with fun romp around the country! I started in Minnesota visiting friends and doing a clinic, then came to Utah for my annual snowboarding trip with my best friend, Tina Boutelle.  The snow here in Utah is amazing, and I am thankful to the family that lent us their condo to stay in. It’s picture perfect, especially with the view of the snow covered mountains and trees. I could hibernate here for a long time!!

I’m meeting my family in Kentucky for Christmas, before a few days with my other best friend in Buffalo! Once January hits, it’s go time as far as gearing up for Japan.  I have until March 13, and my goal is to get in the best shape I’ve been in since 2008.

Oh, and I’m going back to school, too. I’m going to finally finish my MBA online. Tasha Watley did hers, and after hearing her talk about it, I was motivated to get going again, so I applied to the same program she just finished. At least I have someone to go to with questions! I’m really excited to get it started, though.

I think that’s all for now… I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!!  Find happiness in even the little things, and share it with everyone!

Write again soon…

I have to comment on this. I was very excited to see you at the softball game in Smithville. Unfortunately, you were not very happy to see your fans. I was shocked that you refused to sign autographs for the opposing team. My little girl was devistated that she was not able to get an autograph from her idle. Well just wanted to let you know that you lost lots of fans that night. Your comment on not being at a high school softball game as “yourself” was ridiculous. It would have taken a minute out of your life to make a life long lasting impression on some young girls. Really disappointed in you and shocked.
