Well, since I skipped a Thanksgiving blog and it’s technically the holiday season, I thought I would share all I am thankful for …
My life has turned out to be something I never imagined, and many people have contributed to that …
My parents have guided me every step of the way. Mom answers my frantic calls about losing my keys when she is four states away and really can’t do anything. She listens to me try to sort out all the life issues I have while entering the real world and trying to grow up. Dad gets on me to figure my taxes out on my own now, not to mention has been my #1 catcher and constant rock throughout my softball career. Both of them provide endless love and support, and while I'm slowly trying to be on my own, they are there to help catch the little falls along the way. There’s so much more they do, but I would write forever!
My brothers are my #1 fans, and I love them both dearly. Life was put on hold for them for a while, and I’m hoping I can start to come see them do more things since they have sacrificed for me long enough!
Tina and I in Vail, Colo.
I have an amazing set of best friends who I can constantly count on. I’m a brutally honest person, and they aren’t afraid to give it right back to me. They’ve all been there for me day in and day out, and I’d drive myself insane without them, so in no particular order… Tina, Emily, Alicia, Kelly, Megan, Kelsey and Shannon … I’m thankful for each and every one of you.
I’m thankful for all the coaches I’ve had along the way … Bobby Smith, Dahlen Gardner, Henry Miller, Coach Clark, Coach Looper, Coach Hill … each and every coach has helped my career as a player and coach blossom.
I am thankful for Lizz Summers, who aside from my parents, has been my mentor in everything in life. She's listened to many of my complaints, she edits these blogs, she helps me think decisions through before making them. She's a friend at the same time as being someone who I look up to on a professional level. I trust her opinion, and don't think my transition to the so called real world would have been as smooth without her.
I’m thankful for Coach Lenti for the opportunity he has given me. I learn so much about myself, the game and life each day. He’s truly a man of plenty of wisdom, and the best boss I can work for.
I’m thankful for my girls! I love them all, and enjoy our time on and off the field. I love their office visits to discuss whatever topic they have on their mind. As much as I am usually the center of jokes or pranks, I laugh with them about it. They keep me one my toes, and allow me to see how to be a better coach and person.
Of course I am thankful for my sponsors, all my teammates, and the life softball has given me.
I’m also thankful for Oreos because they are the best food for me to indulge in. They take all my worries away. I am thankful for the internet, Skype, my laptop, texting, cell phones … all of which keep me in touch with everyone across the world. I’m thankful for my library of books that takes me to a different world sometimes, and lastly… I’m thankful for all you fans who read this and follow. You guys are truly remarkable, and I appreciate all the comments and support you give! =)
I’ll write a real blog soon … just wanted to take a break from life stories for a while!
