I know it's been a while since I wrote, but I've been enjoying being in one city for an entire month. It's weird getting into daily routines again, unlike the last year where it was pack-up-and-go every other day. You forget how great it is to make your own coffee and hear the sound of rain on your own windows, and even more importantly how incredibly comfortable your own bed is!
Life now consists of early mornings to let Tucker out, late nights studying Financial Accounting, and occasionally cooking for myself. It's nice to be living what I call a normal life. I still need to decorate my condo, though. Every time I get the idea to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond or somewhere, I end up laying on the floor playing with Tucker for a while. I'm easily distracted - what can I say!?
Work has been great. I really enjoy being here everyday and not just a few days a month. This fall has been a good one for the Blue Demons. We have one fall ball game left but, as of now, we are 6-0 with some good wins over Illinois and Northwestern.
We have a new volunteer coach, too: Samantha Findlay. She played at Michigan and she is already making a difference. During our first weekend out, our girls hit six homeruns in four games with everyone contributing during the weekend. My pitchers threw some great innings. I'm personally very proud of all three of them, not only for their good performances, but for how we battled through some rough innings, as well.
Class has been good, I guess. I really enjoy my Management of Ethical and Organizational Behavior class. Financial Accounting isn't bad; it's just not incredibly intriguing information. (Apologies to all accountants that are reading this.) It's weird having to say I have homework to do, but I'm getting in the groove. Next week is my first test already. Let's cross our fingers!
Tucker is getting so big! We're heading to the vet for the first time today. Pups really are like little babies. I get so excited when he does things right. He is in the chew-everything stage though. Luckily (knock on wood) he hasn't gone after my furniture. He loves shoes, visors and stuffed animals. The good news is we've had a few successful nights of sleeping out of our kennel, so we might have a breakthrough here.
In the next few weeks, I'll travel for the first time since I have been back. I'm headed down to Austin for a wedding, to New York for the Women's Sports Foundation Dinner, and then out on the recruiting trail on the weekends. I can say I don't look forward to hotels, but it won't be so bad.
Until next time!
