Yes, oh yes … I have decided to blog once again! However I am not going to play catch up on about four months or more worth of stuff, so you’re going to have to deal with my random thoughts.
Currently, I’m in my lovely hotel room in Oklahoma City! I just finished some homework for my Management Information System class I am taking online. Let me just say that stuff is confusing and hard to retain. I am struggling a bit with the class, but I’ll figure out how to get through it. I really wanted an A, but I am thinking that is a little far-fetched. We shall see! I am trying to get it done though.
Summer has been a lot of fun. I played the first three series with the Thunder. Tucker and I moved up to Rockford, but only for a little while. Tucker has jumped around this summer. Sam Sheely, my teammate on the Thunder, took him home with her while I went to USA training, and now he is comfortably at a friend’s home for the rest of the summer. I won’t see him until school starts again since Rockford hits the road once I get back.
Rockford "Peaches"
I’ve had a blast with the Thunder. It is one of the most fun teams I have been on. It helps that Megan Willis is back with me, but the team as a whole is great. I love Team USA, but I can’t wait to be back with Rockford after the World Cup.
On one of our days off, 13 of us went down to Chicago and had a slumber party in my condo! Yes I housed 13 girls in my little place. It was quite interesting to see the sleeping arrangements, but nonetheless we had fun and there were no complaints.
Team USA has come together well. We have a lot of new players, but they have stepped in, stepped up and contributed like we need them to. We won the Canada Cup going 12-0, but we had some close games. We won the championship game with two outs in the bottom of the seventh! Talk about nail biter! I didn’t even see the last play because I was staying loose.
I want to congratulate my former player Amber Patton for making the national team that will compete in the Japan Cup. She is very deserving and will represent DePaul well. I had fun watching her train and compete during our team training. I look on as a proud coach; it's hard to not shed that role! Good Luck Ber!
I think that’s about it for now… I haven’t taken many pictures, but I’ll scrounge around to find some to post. In the mean time, I’m off to read my pile of books I brought with me. I’ll probably try to finish LA Candy … I’m a reality TV junkie, so yes I bought Lauren Conrad’s book. Oh well! =)
Enjoy life!
