Hey there!!
Wow it's been a while since I have written. I am sorry I haven’t been more up to date with this portion of my website. I am going to make an effort to write in once every two weeks, so you guys can know what is going on!
Well since the last time I wrote, I finished school and actually was able to walk across the stage and get my diploma. It's the one thing my mom wanted to see me do, and to be honest it was the best accomplishment I have to date. Graduating is something I did all on my own, and with taking a year off and dealing with a hectic travel schedule every semester, it was a challenge, but I did it!
After graduation I moved up to Rockford, Illinois. It's definitely a big change from Texas, but I am enjoying it. My teammates are a great group of girls, and I think everyone understands that we are all here for one reason. Rockford has embraced us pretty well. Opening day was this past Tuesday. We squared off against the Chicago Bandits, and the pitching match up was me vs. Jennie Finch. We had a huge crowd, and they definitely got their moneys worth! The game went 12 innings, and our team finally broke through in the bottom of the 12th. I didn't pitch as well as I would like to start the game, but by the end I found my timing, and was very happy with my performance.
Besides gearing up for NPF season, I did a little bit of commentary for ESPN. It was a fun experience, and possibly something I will do on the side throughout my career. I shot an Under Armour commercial, which is now on ESPN and MTV, and we will shoot another next week. The second one is a lot different from the first though!
